I have been running since I was in middle school, starting my running career with Markham Track Club as a youth. I was able to leverage high school success to gain a Cross Country and Track scholarship to High Point University in North Carolina where I specialized in middle and long distance.
I continued to run post-collegiately initially with some success, but ultimately took a short break from competitive running. That is until I discovered trail running in late 2017. From there it has become my biggest athletic passion.
From my first ultra, the Frozen Heart 50k in 2018, I have gone all in on training, competing, and learning as much as possible about training, nutrition, injury prevention and management, gait assessment and correction, and ultimately coaching. I have competed now in distances from the ½ marathon to 100 miles on road and trail with finishes in the JFK50, Black Canyon 100k, and Western States Endurance Run among a host of others.
My absolute love for the sport in conjunction with my background in exercise science and physical therapy led me to seek out my endurance coaching certification through the United Endurance Sports Coaching Academy (UESCA). Since then, I have successfully coached runners to finishes and PRs from 5k to 24hr Obstacle Course races and everything in between.
I am Jeff, owner and founder of Without Limits PT & Performance. After getting my degree in Exercise Science, I went to Physical Therapy school, graduating in 2008. Since graduating, I focused on honing my skills in clinical reasoning and manual therapy, becoming a Fellow of the American Academy of Manual Physical Therapists.
I use my knowledge and hands-on skills to help manage conditions across the spectrum of ages and activity levels, but have a high degree of expertise in the management of running related injuries, injuries in fitness and tactical athletes, and in climbers. I have advanced education in gait assessment and correction and bring certifications in endurance coaching and strength & conditioning which I draw on to enhance my clinical treatments.
When not treating, I am either coaching or hitting the trails myself, running, biking, or hiking. I sprinkle in some golf whenever I can.
